“Connor explains modulation in five minutes the way my conservatory took a semester to mangle.”

About

I'm Daniel & Angela — a composer and music educator based in Terrace, BC, Canada. For the last fifteen years I've taught theory, ear training, transcription, and curriculum design to students ranging from total beginners to working musicians.
My approach begins with the music students actually want to play. Theory is a vocabulary, not a wall — and the best way to learn vocabulary is to use it on songs you love. We build literacy alongside listening, and the two reinforce each other faster than either does alone.
I designed the foundational theory and ear-training curriculum at Studio 9 School of Music and now consult on programs at Squamish Academy of Music. My online courses Music Theory Comprehensive and Part 2 on Udemy have served 38,000+ students worldwide.
Outside of teaching, I write original music for sync licensing — ambient, scoring, and game-adjacent work you can hear on SoundCloud. I take a small number of transcription clients each month for clean, performance-ready scores.
If you're a self-learner, a working musician sharpening your ears, or a school looking for a curriculum that produces measurable musicianship — get in touch.
